TRAINING FOR TEACHERS OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE
With more than 50 years’ experience, St Giles was one of the first organisations to offer training for English language teachers in the UK and it was involved in the development and launch of the RSA Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
Today, St Giles offers a range of initial teacher training and in-service professional development courses for first language and proficient speakers of English and also for overseas teachers of English who want to improve their language skills and further develop their teaching methodology. St Giles’ experienced and skilled teacher trainers are also practising teachers who are actively committed to their own continuous professional updating.
Hear from our trainees about how they used their course.
The Trust works in partnership with international charities and the British Council, as well as national and regional government bodies and education institutions in other countries, on projects which focus on the training of English language teachers in different parts of the world. These projects enable St Giles teachers and teacher trainers to share their experience with overseas teachers at primary and secondary schools and colleges.
