Training for teachers of English Language

With more than 50 years’ experience, St Giles was one of the first organisations to offer training for English language teachers in the UK and it was involved in the development and launch of the RSA Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Today, St Giles offers a range of initial teacher training and in-service professional development courses for native and near-native speakers of English and also for non-native/overseas teachers of English who want to improve their language skills and teaching methodology.  Find out more.

St Giles’ experienced and skilled teacher trainers are also practising teachers who are actively committed to their own continuous professional updating.

The Trust works in partnership with international agencies such as the British Council as well as charities with an international focus, on projects which concern the training of English language teachers in other countries.  These may be rooted in development education or linked to education systems reform and St Giles’ own teachers and teacher trainers are involved in their delivery.
