Our History
The St Giles Educational Trust was set up by Paul Lindsay in 1970 to provide intensive training courses for teachers of English language.
St Giles was one of the first organisations to offer accredited training of this type and it was involved in the development and launch of the RSA Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
In 1980, the Trust adopted its current name in recognition of the expanded scope of its aims and activities.
The overall purpose of the Trust is to promote excellence in English language teaching and teacher training.
The Trust works in partnership with both UK and international organisations including universities, colleges, language schools, government agencies and overseas ministries, on the development and delivery of its activities.
