Opportunities

The St Giles Educational Trust International Scholarship Scheme aims to increase access to English language teacher training.  The Trust provides grants to cover course fees and in most cases, the cost of accommodation, to enable primary and secondary school and English language teachers from overseas, to come to the UK to study English, to enhance their teaching methodology and to share professional practice .  Courses are offered at one of the St Giles International schools in London, Brighton or Eastbourne.

The St Giles Educational Trust also meets the costs of sending teachers and teacher trainers from the UK to work with students and teachers in communities worldwide, where this input is needed.   In this area of its activity, the Trust works in partnership with international agencies such as the British Council, overseas governments or other charities, to ensure that the impact of the projects can be maximised.

We regret that at present, we are not able to accept applications to the scholarship scheme from individual teachers, as most candidates are referred by our partner organisations.

If you are an international agency or a charity which is interested in finding out more about the St Giles Educational Trust Scholarship Scheme or you would like to talk to us about a specific project proposal, please contact Diane Mullen,  Director of the Trust.
